Bethesda Fountain, Central Park

Bethesda Fountain is the central feature on the lower level of Bethesda terrace. The fountain in the middle was designed by Emma Stebbins. The 8 foot statue of a bronze angel is at the top of the fountain, where water cascades into an upper basin and into the surrounding pool. Beneath her are four four-foot cherubs representing Temperance, Purity, Health, and Peace.
