San Juan Bautista is the site of one twenty one missions the Spanish set in California, along El Camino Real. These missions stretch from slightly north of San Francisco all the way down to San Diego. Mission San Juan Bautista was founded in 1797. The closest big cities are Salinas and Hollister.
