Redwood National Park

Redwood National Park is in the northern corner of California and abuts several similar state parks such as Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.

The outstanding feature of these parks is their tall coastal redwood trees. The coastal redwoods or sequoia sempervirens grow naturally only in this narrow path of northern California coastland wheras the giant sequoias sequoia giganteum are found naturally in Kings Canyon and Sequoia national parks inland.
