Pt. Reyes and Mt. Tamalpais

Mt. Tamalpais and Pt. Reyes are about an hour north of San Francisco. Mt. Tamalpais State Park offers good views of San Francisco from its peak and is a hiking and cycling favorite. Within the park is the Sidney Cushing amphitheatre where plays are held.

The Lighthouse

Pt. Reyes has a beautiful lighthouse. It also is a bird watcher's paradise and almost half of all North American bird species have been sighted at this point alone. The drive itself is a long one from Hwy 101 or Hwy 1 but very scenic.

Drakes Beach

On the way to the lighthouse are several beaches and Drakes beach is one of the largest. The cliffs and the beach are very photogenic.
